Arting Every Day - Wendland Fine Art Photography
The enclosed photograph from the "Boston Lo-Fi Series" continues the exploration of urban architecture through a low-resolution lens, emphasizing the textured and grainy aesthetic typical of lo-fi photography. Captured in black and white, this image focuses on a bridge spanning across a waterfront, framed by a walkway and an empty bench in the foreground. The absence of color adds a timeless, contemplative quality, enhancing the sense of solitude and introspection.
Arting Every Day - Wendland Fine Art Photography
In my photograph from the Boston Lo-Fi Series, I aim to capture the unseen reality behind urban life. The narrow alleyway, with its gritty dumpsters and tangled power lines, offers a glimpse into the “backstage” of the city. Most people pass by these scenes daily, unaware of the raw, unfiltered narratives hidden in plain sight. I wanted to showcase the lived-in spaces where people park, store their belongings, and discard remnants of their lives. These spaces speak to the unspoken stories of urban existence.
Arting Every Day - 4081 Forest
The painting "4081 - Forest" from my Il Mio Bosco collection is a deeply personal exploration of my connection to forests and the complex emotions they evoke. Through a monochromatic palette of blacks and whites, I aim to heighten the emotional intensity, evoking solitude, fear, and trauma that stem from both personal and universal experiences. The heavy brushstrokes and layered mixed-media textures create a dense, overgrown forest, symbolizing the complexity of nature and the chaotic emotions tied to human life.
Arting Every Day - 4019 Cityscape
In Cityscape - 4019, I explore themes of urban isolation and the hidden aspects of city life. I use a monochromatic palette, dominated by black, white, and various shades of grey, to evoke a sense of starkness and coldness, reflecting the emotional distance often experienced in urban environments. The color palette serves as a symbol of the structured yet alienating nature of modern cities. The tension between order and obscurity becomes apparent as the rigid grid of the city fades into the fog, blurring the boundaries between what is visible and what remains hidden.

The Cityscapes Collection
In the tapestry of my artistic journey, "The Cityscapes Collection" emerges as a vivid chapter, a series of large paintings that mark a new epoch in my evolution as an abstract impressionist. This collection, available for exploration and acquisition at Hans Wendland's Cityscapes Collection, is more than a mere assembly of artworks; it is a profound reflection of my life lived amidst the pulsating hearts of the world's greatest cities.
In the Realm of the Abstract Impressionist: A Canvas of Emotion and Restraint
As I stand before my latest creation, a tempest of emotions and artistic fervor swirls within me. This piece, a labyrinthine journey through the abstract impressionist's soul, demanded not just my skill but a piece of my essence. The perennial quandary of the artist - what to reveal and what to conceal - lies at the heart of my work. It's an intricate dance of presence and absence, a delicate balance where every brushstroke is a word in an unwritten poem.
Celebrating 100 Million Views on Flickr: My Photographic Odyssey
Today, I stand at a remarkable milestone that seemed like a distant dream when I first embarked on my digital photographic journey. My Flickr account has amassed an astounding 100 million views! It's a number that's hard to fathom – imagine, a dollar for every view! This achievement isn't just a testament to numbers, but a reflection of an incredible journey that began in 2007, three years after Flickr, the photography-focused social network, was launched.
Nature colliding with urbanization
For the past 40 years, I have painted abstractions of what I see and feel in nature, and I still do that. Having traveled around the world I have also experienced life in many cities, and about 10 years ago I started to abstract the urban landscapes I have visited.
What the hell is this?
As many of you know I always have a story, and some of them occasionally even come dangerously close to the truth… so I thought I would start recording some of the crazy stories here. Here I will share with you my travel stories, what Arting Every Day means to me, I will write about my crazy cooking, which I love to do, the painting, the photography, and my new little secret passion with eMobility and Electric Vehicles of all types.
How I paint, crop, show, sell & ship my canvases.
All of my work is painted on high-quality primed canvas. I do not use stretchers, I paint directly on the canvas hung to a wall or on my work tables. Each canvas is cut by hand and will vary in size - most canvases are 180x140 cm however because I rough-cut cut each by hand, every canvas size is unique
